Blue Robin
A deep
bright color tiny bird size of a sparrow, chirping around my home attracted my
attention, so got ready my camera with Tele zoom lens and aimed at her and made
some frames. The bird I always saw flying and chirping around which is bright
in deep blue or shiny black color but very restive and vagabond in nature. Its
nature of vagabond prevails everywhere even in neighboring countries like
Himalayas of Nepal, India, Myanmar and Bangladesh. During its nesting it lays 3
to 4 blue eggs rarely it lays 5 eggs, it also tries to make more nest but
laying of eggs decreases to 2. It is migratory and breeds in the jungles during
May to July.
This tiny
bird is the symbol of good luck, happiness, rebirth and fertility. As history
or mythology this bird is also called protector from storm and lightning. This
is also known as Oak King of summer as per Celtic folklore. There are some
names of the stages of this bird, if it is young and just hatched is called
hatchling, another that is still in nest is called nestling and the bird which
has just left the nest is called fledging.
As per the
belief in Hindu and some other religions Blue bird Robin is a symbol of
piousness is also considered as God sent something in a veiled way that will
prove good for them. This bird is insectivorous and mainly feed on the ground,
fanning and flicking its tail frequently. Mainly adult male has blue in their
upper parts and white or orange lower underbelly but the female looks much
drabber with brown upper and buff underbelly. It also sings and whistles
rapidly to attract his partner. So it proved as a boon from nature for human
being as it works as auspicious and beneficial.
