Horap Jungle
As I remember it was the day of World
Photographic Day. Being a member of JPA (Jharkhand Photography Association) so
a programmed was chalked out to Photo walk for all the members, so accordingly
a meeting point and time was set and all of us gathered at the given point and
time and set out for Horab or Horap, which is about 15 to 18 Kms from Ranchi
City. We all the photographers were welcomed by the village Pradhan and
students of the school in very traditional way, where they had arranged
breakfast and tea for all of us in a neatly cleaned middle school of the
village where after the breakfast enjoyed the performance of small skits played
by the students.
Then
from we all set out for the jungle where a small guest house was there and the
place was very calm and quiet and its serenity was sometimes broken by chirping
of the different species of birds. So all the photographers were given task of
photo walk and fixed time to shoot and come back.
I
was also carrying my arsenals (Photographic equipments) but as I am a senior
member I was on judging side and didn’t participated in the competition, but
couldn’t hold my temptation to operate my camera. For the time being I
disheartened to see the place and thinking what to shoot a telling picture?
Then I saw a small rivulet gently flowing down the jungle and I decided to have
some frames of the rivulet and decided to capture the flowing of water in slow
motion and it worked well and I got beautiful and telling picture of that
rivulet. After that a sumptuous lunch Chicken curry and boiled rice were
served, after declaring the result, we proceeded for the city.
