Lightning
As the
monsoon entered into the vast parts of Northern India, giving much relief from
intense heat and much anticipated cheer into the life of the denizens the
pleasant weather gives great relief from the scorching sun and made the spirit
of the people high and heart yearns for more tasty treats. It also gives an
insatiable feeling that the rain shouldn’t be stopped and it pour continuously.
It also brings cheers on the faces of farmers who mostly depend upon it for
their crop. As per scientists the rain brings happiness and improves the mental
health of the people. Moving in rain
with umbrella and rain coat is pleasurable experience. But at the same time rain
also brings miseries in the form of flood, cloud burst and some serious
diseases too, which come into force in the months of July and August mostly Influenza, Cholera, chikungunea,
Malaria and other viral fever etc. In rural areas of North Bihar flood is a
perennial and endless problem of every year. In the year 2013 thousands of
pilgrims perished into cloud burst incident at Kedarnath temple and its surroundings
of Uttrakhand state in India.
So as the monsoon brings lot of happiness as
well as woes among the people. It starts with encircling of dark clouds and lightnings.
Among the young’s the dark clouds and rain brings amorous feeling between them
either he or she is present by the side or away from each other. Even in Hindi
films lot of songs on rainy season have fascinated the people and become
popular.
While
shooting rain and dark clouds I decided to capture the natural thunder which
was happening continuously as I am knowing its character that it occur 30,000
more faster than a bullet and its bolt can reach 54,000 Fahrenheit about five
times hotter than the surface of the sun and it strikes in United State 20
million times per year. It is a natural phenomenon which is formed by
electrostatic discharges through the atmosphere between two electrically
charged atmospheres. Its electrical imbalance between the storm clouds and the
ground or within the clouds sheet lighting describe as distant bolt. In younger
days there was a chapter on light in the school that who travels fast, light or
sound then lightning was the answer.
Due to its ultrafast nature capturing
it on the focal plane of the camera is quite difficult, there is lot of miss
and gains if the photographer is alert only then it can be captured. For this I
used Canon EOS Mark III 1 D body with 16-35 short zoom lenses with shutter on “T”.
So far lightning is concern it happen in the plateau area of Jharkhand
continuously and with full force. And lightning related cases are rising, for
this government is regularly issuing warnings.
