                        Honey bees are insects it has importance due
to its collecting honey from the pollens of flowers which is a staple and very
nutritious diet for human being. This insect has five eyes, as it comes under
insect category so it has six legs. The bees are of three categories.

 

Queen bee which is a
little oversize and bright in look is the only bee that is surrounded and
protected by the thousands of bees. Her prime duty is of reproduction to lay
eggs as she lays about 1000 to 6000 eggs per day.

 

Male bees are also are in
100 or two hundreds, they are not workable and use to suck the nectar which
female or working bees collected. But their roles in productivity are
important.

 

The female bees which fly
at 20 m/ph are of very importance as they collect honey from pollens of flowers
and also make wax and help in making perennial colonial nests or bee hives from
the wax, sometimes they use to make large size hives to store honey in
abundance. That’s why they are called working bees. For collecting honey they
suck nectar from not less than 200 or more flowers in a day. Their main enemies
are wild bears, elephants, honey badgers and human being.

 

A bee flutters her little
wings 11,400 times in one minute. Only female bee if disturbed can attack on
perpetrators collectively and sometimes kill them. They communicate each other
through dance moves. For producing a Kilo honey bees travel about 55,000 miles
and can collectively creates about 100 kg of honey in a year. In one colony or
bees hive they live about 60,000 like a family.
