Train Journey
So
far I remember my train journey when I was a kid. My father and mother always
carried us to our native place our village by changing different modes of
transports. Firstly we all use to catch train for Fatwa station from there a
journey of 35 Kms covered in 2 hrs
covered by narrow gaze line train which were like toy trains of Darjeeling.
While in speed the coaches of the train shook so violently that seems as if those
were dancing. That’s speed was not more than 20 Kms/hrs so some young people just
for fun use to got down from the running train and again board that in the motion.
Being a kid seeing their daring activities left my wide open and taking
inspiration after seinge their activities I asked my father that I also want to
do so in return got hammer tonged.
Gradually
I grew up and did many train journeys so some of them are deeply etched into my
mind. So in this way once I joined working journalists group and set out for
south India trip. A full coach was reserved for 40 of us only, and the whole
coach was almost ½ empty, so we all had great fun for 15 days and covered
almost 5000 Kms and many places of south India. That trip was very fascinating,
comfortable and had lots of fun. Some of the persons in the group had some
reservation of south Indian meals and they were not relishing and frowning.
In
later stage when I joined my office in New Delhi, so I use to commute from N.
Delhi to Ranchi once in a month by premium train Rajdhani Exp which was always
a thrill, pleasure and fascinating due to its comfort and courteous train
staff. The longest train journey I did is from Tiruanantpuram to New Delhi
which was more than 2000 Kms and crossed many south Indian states to North
India, but the noticing point was that train arrived at the Nizamuddin Railway
station exact on time. The catering and other staff was very courteous and
served good food as per individual choice. Also the Konkan railway route was
very captivating with natural scenery the track crosses many high bridges and
tunnels.
Lastly
I took journey by the latest premium train Vande Bharat on its maiden journey
from Patna to Ranchi with new route Koderma- Hazaribag, which took only 6 hrs
to cover 350 Kms of distance, it staff were very nice with good behavior and
courteous too, the train with new technology was very comfortable, with good
and tasty food. Its speed thrilled and fascinated me. I will suggest my friends
and readers to embark a journey by this lovely train. While in Australia I
always travelled by trains which most were double dickers. Fully air-conditioned,
very punctual and neat and clean.
