Ram Navmi
Celebrated with Devotion and Enthusiasm Across Jharkhand

Ram Navmi,
marking the birth of Lord Rama—the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu—was
celebrated with immense fervor across India and in Jharkhand, particularly in
Ranchi. The city came alive with vibrant processions, devotional music, and
displays of traditional martial arts.

Dressed in
radiant yellow attire symbolizing divinity and purity, youths from various
Akharas showcased their martial skills at Albert Ekka Chowk, the central point
of Ranchi. The atmosphere was electric, reflecting the spirit of devotion and
cultural pride. This sacred festival, celebrated on the ninth day of the
Chaitra month during Navratri, honors Lord Rama’s legacy of righteousness,
truth, and dharma.

Lord Rama,
revered as a symbol of virtue and a protector of humanity, is believed to have
brought harmony to the cosmos at the time of his birth. As narrated by
saint-poet Goswami Tulsidas, the moment of his divine birth brought peace and
positivity across the world—something that devotees felt even today in the
celebrations throughout Ranchi.

This year
saw a historic moment as the Shree Mahavir Mandal Ranchi’s procession
reached Albert Ekka Chowk for the very first time, followed by the Chadri
Sarna Samiti
and tableaux from the Manokamana Temple. Leading the
way were Ram Bhaktas carrying massive Mahaviri flags, symbolizing strength and
devotion.

The
celebrations stretched across key locations such as Kanke Road, Piska More,
Ratu Road, Upper Bazaar, and Kokar, where hundreds of tableaux paraded through
the streets. Youths energetically performed traditional martial arts, while
cultural themes resonated through dance, music, and theatrical performances.

In Ayodhya,
millions gathered to witness a divine phenomenon—sun rays casting a celestial
tilak on the forehead of Lord Rama’s idol, a sight televised live across the
country. For a few sacred minutes, the temple lights were turned off, allowing
the natural sunlight to illuminate the sanctum sanctorum—a divine spectacle
that left devotees in awe.

In
Hazaribagh, the women brigade of Ram Bhaktas held an empowering motorcycle
rally, marking their strong presence in the Mahaviri procession and showcasing
their devotion with pride and energy.

To sanctify
the celebrations, ten learned priests chanted over one lakh Lord Rama mantras
continuously for eight days, turning the entire venue into a sacred space
filled with divine vibrations.

From cities
to villages, the birth of Lord Rama was celebrated with chants of
“Janme hai Ram Raghuraiya, Awadh mein baaje badhaiya,”
as dhols, nagadas, manzeeras, and other traditional instruments set the rhythm
for euphoric dancing on the streets.
